CCS is a fully independent coating consultancy company and has been operating for over 25 years. CCS has managed over 800 superyacht projects such as refit and new build projects, including surveys. They work with 10 certified consultants in all the major superyacht hubs. Every consultant has his own specialty, like a Naval Architect, an ex. Chemist and a Court Case expert. Because they operate regionally, they can keep costs low. The 4 people in the office make sure that the quotations, reports and invoicing procedures run smoothly.

Why a cooperation?

Surveyor at work

Amico and CCS are working together well. Why? They are both privately owned companies. The Directors and owners (Paul Bournas, CCS and Alberto Amico, Amico & Co) are both very involved in the day-to-day business. There are short communication lines and the two companies want to bring each other to a higher level because of their mutual respect and interest.
In the end, the customer will benefit from the clarity of the agreed high quality levels.

As Paul Bournas explains:
“We are the kind of companies that cooperates with the client, whether this is a yard, management company or a captain/owner. We think forward in managing expectations, setting the standard from the beginning to the end.”

The process at Amico Shipyard

Since 2007, Amico & Co has developed quality standards, acceptance criteria and warranty conditions with parameters superior to ICOMIA guidelines and to those applied by competitor refit shipyards. These values were recently fine-tuned working together with CCS and are accepted by all main industry professional players. The parameters and criteria are written to make clear to all parties what has been agreed by all parties and to avoid any discussion afterwards.
CCS and Amico keep a complete record of the paint process. This means approval per phase, atmospheric conditions and application characteristics.
